Tell Us About Yourself / Re: Remember me??!
« on: February 17, 2013, 02:24:25 PM »
Thanks everyone! :D

Its never too late chookie2! Im 26 years old, so a little older than the fresh faced highschool leavers lol! But it doesnt matter about your age or experience. I left in year 9 to become a hairdresser...and i am by no means an academid type. I just know what I love and made a decicion to make it my life. There are other mature age students too, the eldest being in their late 40's early 50's!

I was very young when i joined this forum and i may have stepped on a few toes, but i can assure you that i was just a naive teenager. But I must say, this forum helped shape and expand my love for fossicking and rocks. I am very greatful for that!

I would love to tag along with anyone going on a fossicking trip, whether it be for a day or a few days as my boyfriend isnt obsessed with it haha!
I go on my own, but sometimes its a little creepy, you never know when the yowie man will appear!!!

Cheers
Kristy

Im not sure if you would remember me... I was a regular up until 3-4 years ago :-D
Thought I would come back and check in with everyone. Also, I wouldnt mind tagging along on group trips!

I am happy to say, that I've accomplished sooo much in the last few years of my absence.
In 9 months I will be a geologist!!

I would LOVE to catch up with anyone who wants to do a trip within 300km on canberra :-D
I am heading to wee jasper tomorrow to make the most of my last day of freedom before uni starts back!

Hello all, the silly season is here!  beers

I havn't been on here for a while. The last couple of months has been pretty difficult. My partner and I broke up just after MM so things have been rough. All is good now except for the fact that I have been fossicking ONCE in the last 2 months! Which is huge because I usually go every weekend! I am having major withdrawals and I need a fossicking buddy! I would go by myself but my mother is worried that I will be attacked by snakes, pigs, yowies ect...  ;D :o Haha! So if anyone wants to do something give me a buzz, I'll go anywhere!

 beers

Trip Talk / Re: October 2009 New England fossicking trip
« on: October 09, 2009, 08:19:47 PM »
Well today was our last day fossicking  :'( :'( :'(
We ran into ted and muddy at the emerald mine, they were the only other fossickers we saw the whole trip! On the way out, we came across a 4wd with 2 flat tyres, the poor buggers! They had been out fossicking. Luckily they had one spare tyre, and our spare fit like a glove, so they hobbled behind us back to Deepwater. If we didn’t come along, they were in for a very very long walk to anywhere! We spent the afternoon chatting away to them and swapped numbers. Always carry a tyre repair kit!!!!!!!  ;D
I found heaps of beryl pieces, 6 of them are beautiful crystals, quite a few chunks of green fluorite and heaps of quartz crystals.  ;D ;D I'll put some photos up when we get home in about a week. Oh, and while Dave went off metal detecting some ruins, I wandered off to speck for rocks, but instead I found an 1867 penny, just sitting on the surface!  8) 8)
We're going to go see the Emmaville museum tomorrow then we're off to surfers paradise for a week! Good luck everyone and I hope to see pictures soon  beers

Our plans have changed again! We are leaving canberra this saturday for Barraba, (Maybe even drop into parramatta miners den  ;) ) We will stay in Barraba for 3 nights, detecting around woodsreef for gold and relics. On tuesday we'll be driving to Deepwater, north of Glen Innes, and on the way through we will stop over in Tingha for quartz.  :o ;D We'll stay at Deepwater until friday and then onto tweed heads for about 4 days beach detecting and/or shopping! (I havn't told dave about the shopping though ;) )

So if anyone is free wednesday night, we'd love to meet up for a drink and to share our finds! One day of work to go!!!!

Hey guys, not long to go now! Unfortunately we wont be joining the ALF camp anymore  :'( We will still be in the area fossicking for 4 days but we will be staying at deepwater, we were planning to spend most of our time fossicking around torrington, so we thought why not just stay there.
