I know that I am sick of the rain.
October 2010, we had water through the house.
With the insurance money I got a Scintillator.
4 weeks ago I finished repairing all the damage to the house.
Finally set up the faceting machine.
3 weeks ago flooded again. This time I saved the machine. But it has now been packed up again. Will I ever get to use it.

I do know of one Ruby found just out of Tumbarumba, that cut over 1ct. I have found a few small rubies in the area, but nothing of any size.

please pm the email address thankyou

To the Glen Innes Severn Council

If you go ahead and close this fosscking site I would be less likely to visit the area as this visiting the Wellingrove fossicking area would be one of the main attractions of coming to your area to visit.  We are a large family of 7 and in a normal one week holiday we would spend quite a bit of money in your area on food, accomodation, and other family orientated activites for our children.

From what I understand, the area through the first gate is forrestry land and not under lease by anyone.
To legally fossick on any forrestry land in NSW you must first obtain a permit from the dept that controls that area.
Mac Phersons is controlled by Tumut. The cost is $22+gst, this covers you for 12 mths.
This only covers you for the tumut forrestry area. So if you then want to fossick in say Bathurst area it would cost you an additional $22+gst.
Tumut forrestry also covers Parsons Gully at Tumbarumba.
This information was found out from the Tumut forrestry office, the office lady is a fossicker herself and has been very helpful.

Thank you for thinking of my birthday.
Just back on line after a couple of weeks off, to look after my wife, and 4 of our kids. As Steph has been getting over a fairly major operation.
But things are nearly back to normal now, which is good.

Fossicking Locations / Re: where to fossick in southern NSW

Went through some beryl today, I got from Albury about 12 months ago.I've been slack and never cleaned it up.  There is a few nice small cutters. The largest is a 4.7ct light blue. There is also a nice clear at 2.6ct, plus a green about the same size. there are also various other smaller green and blues but mainly light green.
I have some very good specimens, the largest single piece of a crystal is about 2.5cm across and about 2.5cm long.
