Ask a "Silly" Question / Re: good metal detectors
« on: March 08, 2016, 02:02:45 AM »
I agree with the above I've been detecting for 34 years I now use Minelab and have since the GT15000 I now swing a GPX5000

Dummy screw holes the cover just lift's off
now all I need to do is work out how to change the wheels
there is a screw but it's not doing anything unless there's an end plate missing

I should have brought that multi wheel grinder Leah  :-[  I just might
regards Harry

Oh P.S. photo's of the briot open are in the gallery

Ask a "Silly" Question / Re: Thunder eggs
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:04:48 PM »
I'm talking mid 70's out at Mt Hay we were picking up thunder eggs (geodes) large and small,
large ones were billy bolder size to rockmelon size and down to marble size ,
the marble size were scattered among the larger ones and in turn they scattered in the rhyolite that was every where.
I'm not sure where you are or what the topography is ,
if there were larger geodes in the area I think they should be on the surface by now,
there may be some one else with more if not better knowledge than me.
