According the Woofa scales the official weights are:

Single Gem from Heffernan's   23.80 carats
Bag 'o Beryl from Cow Flat     340.80 carats

Total Weight is 364.60 carats

So the winner is sioux with a guess of 365.20 carats.

Congrats to sioux ... send me a PM with your postal details and I'll mail them off to you  beers

I'll post all the guesses in a few minutes.

Thanks again Woofa for your generosity and the entertainment generated by the competition.
I decided to try a new strategy this time around and wait until nearly the end and average all of the guesses. Ended up using tha strategy of becoming distracted by work and not putting any guess in. Sigh! :'(

The next Gem of the Month looks like it's going to be Zircon according to the votes so far.

The comp for some tasty Zircon will start early January :D

An interesting strategy oldlrnut (probably as good as any other way) ... the average of the guesses was 352.82.  I suspect the average is always going to be around the middle of the range?  It wouldn't have won but it wasn't too far off.  You can always put in an early guess and then change it later if you want.
Regards, Paul
