GGT Dec 12
« on: November 22, 2012, 10:55:26 AM »
The latest Gold, Gem & Treasure mag has some interesting articles ....

> Mookaite mining - lots of pics
> History of the Hillgrove Gold Mines (near Armidale)
> Lightning Ridge - by (ALFer) Patrick O'Brien
> Coober Pedy Opal mining

Excerpt from the Townsville Daily Bulletin 20th June, 1952 ... a man found the "Golden Willow" sapphire at the Willows (CQ).  It was a perfectly clear yellow sapphire with a small dark green area on one side.  It weighed over 300cts and was described as the finest yellow sapphire ever found in Australia.  The owner slept with a loaded rifle by his side.  I wonder where it is now??

I also noticed that you can now get back-copies of GGT from Sep 2006 onwards in PDF format for $2.95 each.

Regards, Paul

Hey Mehoose,
Your comments lately seem to be a cryptic?  What would you like to see more of and where do you suggest I put the bow tie ???

LOL, well, it takes a while before I notice these things, cos balls/spheres aren't my forte as you well know. BUT..bad word to start a sentence with .... BUT, everyone is sprouting balls in here lately under their Av's so I've been having a play, pushing on the balls, correct terminology is clicking on links but when you have the handle of Wwoofa a 'ball' seems apt and when playing with your particular ball there is a super cuteness that is revealed but that's all I see. You do mention more pics etc so I was just suggesting ideas seeing as no other items were forthcoming and did I mention I've finally given up smoking this past fortnight which could have a bearing on why comments have been so random lately and the drugs used were rather mind altering... I think.....
Keep em comin!!!

I see Merryn ... I'll add some more pics etc when I get some time.   That "woofer" is the original and it's why I chose my user name (after he passed away).  Congrats on giving up the death sticks ... I know it's tough but keep it up ... it's really worth it beers

I think mehoose has lost the plot, her ramblings on this thread dont make any sense, completely off topic!
It's a pity really as ramblings like that don't add anything to a forum.  ::)

GGT finally arrived - yahoo!  beers AND ... with four (yes four) articles relating to Gems (usually gems rate a little poorly with most articles relating to gold. Se well done GGT for adding more articles that interest us 'rock hounds'  ;D ;D ;D. Can't wait to dive into the articles, the only problem is I will finish them all the first night and will have to wait a whole month for the next offerings.
