Fossicking around Eden NSW

Hi all,

We spent today fossicking around the northern beaches of Wollongong for petrified wood. We ended up finding some great specimens and the kids had a great time.

As we are heading to Eden tomorrow, 3.10.13, would anyone have any tips on where I can find amethyst around Eden. I have seen reports of it being there but no locations or directions.

As I am on the ipad, photos don't seem to upload, I will add some when I get home

i know this is a old post but i found petrified wood at wollongong beach yesterday was good bit of fun.
