cabachon pre-former / cabbing machine / semi automatic

My search continues (nearly 3 yeras now !) for a Colbaugh or Addexton or like cabbing machine- any condition any leads appreciated . Thanks Norm

Norm, I have a friend that made his own around 20 years back, I think part of the fun is cutting your own manually but every hand made cab varys slightly, unless you are selling large amounts, even then you would get them cut in Asia for a fraction of the cost to produce here, it may be a fun project to make one or even watch one being used, all the Australian competitions don,t allow this type of rough forming, e.g Gemboree, a link about these.

Those machines look very impressive. I have a manual type of preformer with a variety of metal holders that work well. It gives a perfect size but as Mick says, would be illegal to use in comps. It is basically a stand that sits in the tray & the movement by the user preforms the cabs. I can take pics of the set up if interested.
