Possible ban on sluicing
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:59:42 AM »
This petition is making the Facebook rounds at the moment but for those of you who are not on there, reposting here fyi.

If you have an opinion on this issue, you may like to sign the petition and contact the relevant politicians.

https://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/ryan-smith-refuse-the-proposed-ban-on-sluicing-in-victoria

I suggest that with the petition standing so far at less than 500 signatures, if you are really against the proposed ban, you will also need to make a big noise in the media and with all relevant politicians.

cheers
Leah

Petition climbing. Now 1048. Please consider signing even if you don't live in the state and want to visit here one day to fossick! Unless people speak up, we could lose the privilege we currently enjoy.

I agree, first it's sluicing next it will be sieving. I'm not into seeking the yellow metal and would rarely, if at all, use a sluice, but it's the thin edge of the wedge.
Common sense isn't exactly common

Even though I'm a QLDer i and my wife sighed, and happy to do so. Can't let the Greens get any wins or we will be locked out of the bush entirely.
