No idea of stone on left. One on right could be petrified fern. Any chance of another photo with the stone wet to bring out colour/pattern.

Where were these found, this may also give an indication.
Baaa humbug, not enough fossicking time!

I'm with you on these Jamo. The right one looks like the base of a fern, but need more info on the left one. Texture ?????. Colours ?????  Size ?????

Testure is almost slippery. Size is 70mm x 40 mm aprox. Colors are as you see them, looks bronzed with the olive green markings. Grades to a deep green on the other side. I will do more photos later. To my eye it is quite beautiful and intreaging in its natural state. I will probably cut and polish (flat lap) the back & use a fine polish (14,000) and a buff on the front to bring out the natural colour and pattern.
I have found so much unique stone since I have been out here that it has ignited my interest in lapidary over the past 10mths. However I leave the Roma district on Monday to return to FNQ.
I do so However, with a much keener eye and a new found form of artistic expression through stone  8)
PS: Thanks Tinker, I will look Epidote  up !
