Now this is a sapphire

Good afternoon rock people and dreamers.


Here is a link to a sapphire valued at $100 million. And after you buy it... what then? You would be frightened to wear it anywhere so I suppose you lend it to a museum that guarantees to insure against loss or lock it up in a vault and hope it gains in value.

yes - not much you can do in practice with this type of stone but the interaction of buyers and sellers will result in a price - given the rarity, they probably would get a very big price.

Not sure the bragging rights would be enough for me as I would prefer to spend $100 million in other ways but it is an impressive gem.

Looking at the growth lines the original crystal must have been a monster when whole.
