Hi Malachi, I am getting much closer now = currently waiting on some printable inkjet adhesive film I have decided to print out the graduations and stick them to the index wheel rather than scribing them and number punching the wheel - if the stick on version fails then I will scribe them :)  I came across a great website with the unusual name of Blocklayer.com : <http://www.blocklayer.com/circle-dividereng.aspx> it allows one to create divided circles with numbering which can be printed out and appears to be very accurate.  The site has a wide range of calculators I suspect generally for the building trade but very useful to me for this project.

Great job Ken

The Gemmasta has a printed Aluminium disk stuck to the index wheel, I'm not sure how its printed but similar solution to what you are doing.
I was thinking a small CNC machine would be the bees knees to engrave the index, I don't really know their possibilities or limitations so just thinking out loud.

Nice work ken I've been meaning to build a small cnc machine. On the to do list :) I've just thought I might try 3d printing some index gears for my gemmasta. Not a 96, might get a bit messy but a 32 or 16. Even some odd symmetry ones :). You could just print on any paper and glue on the numbers.

I have some printed laminated samples but I reckon the printable adhesive film should look pretty flash, like a proper bought one  ;D
