There have been lots of storms around the past few day, especially to the east of Glen Innes, so I'm guessing the Yarrow Creek tracks will be inaccessible again.
That means Rainy Swamp for this Wednesday. Capt'n - your hole will be cleaned out by the time you get out again.  :-[

. Can't wait to get back out there... Maybe next week if work hasn't got me all tied up...   hotthirsty

If there was rain out Pinkett way like there was in Glen Innes then I guess a lot of sand is now on the move! 4 hours + of rain including a nasty hail storm.
I hope those of you who came out today survived the wind, rain and hail without too much distress. Michael and Jan - perhaps the Yarrow Creek access will be wet by now!  :'(

16mm rain & 3 hrs of blackout here. No hail but a lightning storm was impressive. Haven't needed to water the veges for over a week now due to storms every nite.  :o An impressive 72 mm for the past week.  ;D Water tanks full, dam filling nicely too after being able to walk across it 3 weeks ago.

This is what the hail looked like at our place yesterday afternoon. Enjoy and be glad your car wasn't out in it like lots of people's were.

Glad someones getting some rain. We've just had the driest November on record. Cracks starting to open up in the ground. Lost the dog the other day, so I started looking for her in some of the cracks!!!  ;)

  Findem,
Thanks for posting the hail storm video, nasty, glad you came out O.K. I also watched a couple of area associated videos on the "tube". To date, these are my best tourist trips in AU, beautiful country. With the exception of tree species, were you to come here to Oregon, you couldn't tell much difference, including the occasional road washout and the cows in open range areas. Makes us want to come visit you folks even more, hopefully in a couple years. People ask why we want to go to AU, why else, mostly to meet with like-minded people and hunt rocks.

Hi llarson - I'm hoping to to put up more local area videos shortly, especially fossicking ones. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I enjoy making them.  :)

Once again the storms over the past few days will result in another visit to Rainy Swamp tomorrow. Capt'n, no enquiries yet. They have tended to get fewer until after Christmas in previous years.

I've begun to prepare a series of videos on the various places we go to on Wednesdays. The first of these is The Old Mine area, Yarrow Creek. You will find it at:
