Vale Patrick O'Brien
« on: March 20, 2017, 09:35:16 PM »
The Fossicking/ Lapidary world lost another well respected member on Saturday Night... :'(

Pat O'Brien was a valued contributor to the Gold, Gem and Treasure Magazine and a Keen Fossicker... His Lapidary work was next to none...  I have had the privilege of joining Pat on a few of his mad excursions around the hills of Woolgoolga NSW. Didn't find much... We used to just sit by a creek and he would tell me stories from his Policing Days in Newcastle :D .. All I can say is he will be greatly missed by those who knew him....

   R.I.P Patrick O'Brien..  beers

Often you don't need to find anything... the company is enough.  RIP

So true Mr Crocket.. :).
We used to sit and wonder where this particular 'Old Timer' went to make a withdrawal from his 'Bank'.... And as far as I know, The 'Bank' is still there today, a nice Gold Reef somewhere in the hills of Woolgoolga :o..... An old part of Woolgoolga History.... :)

RIP Patrick O'Brien :(

He was a really nice guy and great story teller.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

I never met him, but always enjoyed his articles. In fact the 1st article I read in GGT was by him. RIP.

Woofa and I met him a few times in Glen Innes at the Minerama years ago.

Loved exploring.  :)
