The Fossicking/ Lapidary world lost another well respected member on Saturday Night...
 
  Pat O'Brien was a valued contributor to the Gold, Gem and Treasure Magazine and a Keen Fossicker... His Lapidary work was next to none...  I have had the privilege of joining Pat on a few of his mad excursions around the hills of Woolgoolga NSW. Didn't find much... We used to just sit by a creek and he would tell me stories from his Policing Days in Newcastle .. All I can say is he will be greatly missed by those who knew him....

   R.I.P Patrick O'Brien..

   We used to sit and wonder where this particular 'Old Timer' went to make a withdrawal from his 'Bank'.... And as far as I know, The 'Bank' is still there today, a nice Gold Reef somewhere in the hills of Woolgoolga ..... An old part of Woolgoolga History....

I never met him, but always enjoyed his articles. In fact the 1st article I read in GGT was by him. RIP.
