Went for a dig in the creek over the weekend (don't worry there's plenty of unexplored creek) and found these two unusual stones. Something to tempt you.

The second one almost looks agatey, Jamo. Ted, I will be there before 9am so will keep my eye open for you. I'm currently in WA, stopped into Norseman today with some small results. Picked up some Cowell jade on the way over the other day as well. Heading up to the Gascoyne area next week to do some scratching.

Yes, the second one is agate. The first true agate I have seen from this location.
Glad the fossicking is going well. Looks like you are clocking up the km. Bring some of your finds for 'show & tell' when you arrive. Safe travels

You can add me to the list, in search of the other half of that agate (and that big blue topaz).

Reminder to those coming and those still thinking about it.

Meeting time is 9am, Sat 23rd Sept
.
Two meeting points.
1. If coming through Yarra Junction meet at the pub/store at Powelltown and Bucket will lead you in.
2. If coming via the Princess Freeway through Neerim South, meet at Neerin Junction General Store and I will lead you in.

This is 'in creek' fossicking so you will need all the gear for such (waders, sieves, long handled shovel)

Cheers. Jamo

Possibly, for those that are concerned, some sort of protection against leeches may be required. Personally I've found that if I get leech, I usually get something that makes the trip worthwhile. Others may have other feelings about leeches!

It will be a no show for Dawizard and myself. Decided to attend the VGCA fossicking trip at Whroo just to try something different. Good luck to all Alfers attending Jamo's gathering on Saturday. I hope you all come home with some very nice stones to brag about. Bucket does the size of the leech correspond to the size of crystal you find?  ::) ;D

Hopefully will catch you all next time.   beers

It hasn't so far Malachi, but then I don't need to find something big to make my day, just something good. Pity you can't make it, haven't seen you for a while.

It would appear that I've just bought tickets to Roger Waters in February at Rod Laver, so I will be back then myself.

Who is Nudge?  Anyone can organise a trip, it doesn't have to be me. But if/when there is a trip count me in. Perhaps we can discuss this on Sat.

Looking forward to Sat, I am starting feel 'lucky' - perhaps the BIG one will turn up (and I am not talking about any fossickers who are coming). See you all Sat at the car park around 9.30 after our pick up points  8)
