Buy bags of wash!!   :-o

When was the last time you bought a bag of wash Gemster!!?? :-D

As it happens just had a few days at 3 waters with the kids and another family.  Found a few nice sapphires in the creek, did a spin up to the old emerald mine at Torrington (only had about 20 minutes before major storm rolled in), and a wander over to Elsmore.  So feeling a lot better now!!

Mr Sydney. Is access to the old Torrington emerald mine on public land or does permission need to be sort before entering it and if so who do you contact. Just asking, will save me a search.
Cheers

Hi Malachi,

Its on public land aka State Forest land which you can fossick on. You can be lucky sometimes & find small bits of beryl but they are few & far between.

Hi Malachi,

We got lots of little pieces but by digging some dirt in a particular spot to take away and then put it through our sieves.  I did this the time before and was surprised by how many pieces we got so did it again.  Surface is specked over very regularly!

Having said that everything found was only small pieces not cuttable as all broken when the area was graded out.  But more than enough for the kids and our friends and their kids to be very happy!

MYSTERY TRIP #1This location has been mined but never fossicked. The owner wanted its exact location hidden hence "Mystery Trip". There are 3 locations here where numerous minerals can be found. Copper, azurite, quartz, tin, silver, lead, zinc, fluorite, galena, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, etc. Due to the terrain it will be STRICTLY 4WD ONLY. For those wishing to go fishing, there are numerous holes on the river where Murray Cod, Yellowbelly, Silver Perch, Golden Perch, Redfin & Catfish. can be caught & released.

Queens birthday weekend. So presume the dates for 2019 are 8th, 9th and 10th of June.
 :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Fliers are in the process of being printed in time for Minerama ;) You will notice the Sunday Trip is listed as a "Mystery Trip" as I will be checking out a couple of sites this weekend for viability but wanted to get the fliers printed.
