Welcome to the ALF Picko82.  :)

If you went on the Toowoomba club camping and fossicking trip at the end of March
you would have met me.  I am an interstate club member.  ;D

Welcome to the forum!

Good to have someone from up your way with some knowledge.  I've been to Glen Innes etc a fair bit and did stop for a day at Stanthorpe early last year but had limited idea where to go and do!

Hi Cliff and Mrsydney, thanks for the welcome and merry xmas and new yr to you both. About 14km before stanthorpe there is a servo at glen aplin,, if you take the road oppixite the servo and follow it rou d to the left, then just over the bridge turn right befor the school, follow that road untill u reach the dump. On the right just after the dump is a track into the bush that lead down to the river,  fossic there for nice smokey and blue topaz, have pulled a few blue's from there and buckets of smokey thats clear held to light to the size of a golf ball, goto the left when u reach the river and dig in the miggle where all the rocks are to slow the water,

Welcome Picko and compliments of the season to you and family. It looks like you have got right into the fossicking etc already. I hope you're getting the kids involved.
Clubs are a good source of information and help and this forum is the same but with a much broader spread of knowledge. You will learns a huge amount from this forum.
The leader of the opposition (LOTO) and I go down your way occasionally from Brisvegas and we'll try to catch up next time.
Regards
