Hi All

After the last successful ALFers trip to Powelltown, a revisit is needed.

The date for the trip is: Saturday 17th Feb 2018
Meeting place: 9:30am at the Powelltown Pub

Some nice stones were found last time and we should hopefully get some good weather for it.

Everyone is welcome, just leave a post and we'll confirm the dates closer to the time.

looks like myself, Mario (Malachi) and Chris will also be along for the day.Its always a great day out at powelltown, finding nice stones is a bonus

Hi everyone!

Are newbies welcome along? I've just gotten into gem fossicking recently (got my miner's right and basic tools) and I'm looking for gemstones to use in electroform copper jewellery - it sounds like Powelltown is great spot for these! I've camped around there a few times, it's a gorgeous area

Absolutely Jess, newbies are welcome.
All you really need is a shovel and a sieve. Waders are also a plus if you have some.

Can you tell me if a 2WD car is ok to get to this location? I don't have a 4WD.
