My first specimen my dad gave to me when I was 5years old, some 50 plus years ago. He worked as a hand on a nearby property up at Kerrs Creek in western NSW. It was the size of a baseball and clear as a bell, don't remember what it was called, but it was the best present my dad ever gave me. Maybe someone can enlighten me to what the stone was, I have no idea what happened to it though. And then 5 years ago my eldest son returned from Billabong Blue with a bucket of gravel, for Mother's Day, in there was a 2.7ct 2 colour sapphire, it's now cut and ready for jewellery.
