Info on fossicking permit please

Do I need a permit for going to local places to fossick and if so what do I need to do to get one?

Hi LaserBeamOz,
Yep one of the joys of residing in Qld. Or you could come south and fossick free except for state forests where you'd need to buy a permit but a lot cheaper than you pay.

The department now has available an official private land access form which enables the transfer of liability back to the state.
Thus negating the "insurance" issue.
50 dollars for 50 hours is the last piece of paper you hand over which usually opens a lot of gates.
