Looking for Amethyst Rough
« on: April 28, 2018, 04:20:13 PM »
Hi everyone, I am looking from amethyst rough, doesn't have to be of good quality, preferably a light mauve colour.   I have a mate that I have taught to cab rocks, he has only the use of one hand due to a tumour on the vertebrates on his neck.  He has done well for a man with his medical condition, he was asking me if I could get hold of some Amethyst,  I have tried serveral of my my suppliers but am unable to find any, can any assist me.  I have plenty of amethyst points, that I have found myself, but this is not what he wants.

Regards

Tinker

Hi Tinker,

I don't have any light coloured amethyst but would he be interested in some cabbing grade Aussie chevron?

Cheers,
Fullerton

Yes, post or send a pic and I will have a look.

I've been getting better quality material in recent years from new digs close to old digs.

Cheers,
Fullerton

Fullerton, I have just posted three images of Chevron Amethyst that I have slabbed on my Gallery.  I don't think they are what you are looking for, most of the samples are a bit grainy.

Glen Huntley of Marsfield NSW advertises quality rough in the Aust Facetors Guild magazine.  I have bought colour change synthetic faceting tough from him and his prices were reasonable and seems to have a good reputation among the people I have talked to.

He does the gemshow circuit in NSW so I foubt he deals exclusively with faceting rough.

His email address is qualitygemrough@gmail.com and phone number is 02 9888 1261

It may be worth making an enquiry with him.
