I didn't think it had a protractor at all, thought the plate had fallen off, looks like it in the first photo. But it's there you can see the plate and degree markings. not so bad at all.
Looking out for your first stone, you will love it once you get started.

Thanks rusted I thought that may have been the case.  I assume the big hexagonal one on the mast is used to move the whole unit up and down minutely.

The protractor is very dark and very difficult to see in original photo. Shouldn't be long now Prooz, the hubby's setting up my bench today and I just need to buy a few bits and pieces and I can have a go.  If my first go isn't too shabby I will post a pic.
