Gemmasta 4 faceting machine water issue
« on: May 26, 2020, 12:42:37 PM »
Hi. Hi have a gemmasta 4 faceting machine and the water container has been leaking underneath near the screw attaching it to the machine. I tightened up the screw in the bottle which made the bottle stiff and not move. I thought the bottle rotated on the brass rod and that the brass rod underneath the bottle could be removed so you could empty the bottle however i am unable to remove the rod even after removing the plastic tightening screw that holds it to the machine
Does the brass rod remove and do i just need to use some pliers to help move it or is it stuck to the machine?

I think I am getting the picture that the brass rod is frozen inside the support on the machine. Is that right?

The brass rod stays screwed tightly onto the the water container and (should) comes out of the support stand on the machine.

If the rod is frozen inside the support and wont come out you might need to spray some WD40 and let it sit for a few days, get your gas torch and give the outside of the support a bit of heat, then try and remove it with some pliers. Try not to mangle things too much. It might pay to remove the support bracket from the machine first, I think the hole goes all the way through so you might be able to gently tap it with a hammer and some sort of punch from the other end and get it to move.

If the water container is leaking unscrew the screw from inside the container, clean everything up, apply a bit of silicone sealant to the inside and outside parts and screw them all back together. The leak is probably what caused corrosion to freeze everything together.
