photo bucket hosting links gone
« on: September 27, 2017, 08:11:17 AM »
hi I thought I would let you all know that if you had linked photos from your photo bucket account to the forum the links are now broken and won't show those pictures anymore. I myself had to remove some of my missing links witch is a shame because the hosting service now wants people to pay for hosting images instead of being a free hosting service. and have cut most photo links just in case you we're wondering why.

If you have photos stored there (photobucket) don't delete them and cancel your account until you have retrieved them.

I's not too bad on this forum as most photos are hosted in the gallery, but it has completely trashed others.

I am not happy with photobucket.

I have over 26,000 photos uploaded to my photobucket account since 2004 and paid my yearly fee, then they changed the rules and it now costs around US$400 yearly, a tad too much for this retiree, so I have to change my photos and ALL my 26,000 photos links on my website. At least, they have given me until sometime in 2018 before all my links no longer work, but my links currently are absolute crap with ads etc.

Not happy Jan.

So instead of fossicking, I will be tied to my laptop, amending 1,000s of lines of code. Bugger.

With my youngest son's help, I am changing over to Amazon Web Services. This will take me months before I am finished.

Ahhh, the joys of running a tiny personal website. Here is a link to my fossicking section.

I just uploaded an image to photobucket with the intention of posting the image here. I had no trouble uploading it. Does that mean I can still post the image successfully?
I have no idea what other service to use if photobucket is no longer an option without paying.

Can anyone recommend a free site? I only use it to post here and other random sites if needed (which is very rare).

Thanks!
Karen

Hi Rockgirl  :)
No need for an online to store photos before posting them here.Add them to your album then copy the link to your post.
Info herehttp://aussielapidaryforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=4671.0

Thanks Jimnjerry  :)

It has been a while since I have stopped by here. Happy to say I have a couple of things I can add to my gallery. Will get some things up today some time.
