Alternative water supply setups for cabbing and sawing
« on: February 04, 2015, 09:37:36 AM »
Hi everyone.

I am on the move a lot and cannot always connect to mains for water supply to the machines so I have been using a gravity-fed setup which is not ideal. I have heard that there are other systems including pressure sprayers that you can use and would greatly appreciate any info and pictures of alternative systems.

Thanks
Michelle

Yes - no problems.

Gravity feed tank is the simplest option.  But you can also try either an aquarium pump to supply water up to the individual taps (or alternatively a water spitter in the drainage tray but I am not a fan of that concept) OR a garden pump up sprayer like in the picture here:

The sprayer will hold around 5 litres of water - you will have to pump it up a few times while you use up the water but it is a convenient way of doing it in a compact form.  Just need to swap over some fittings to remove the spray lance and replace to fit to your water inlet manifold.  They are readily available from any hardware store for not a lot of dollars.

Otherwise an aquarium pump in a supply bucket on the floor and then drain to a waste bucket.

Hope this helps.
Cheers Leah
