Wow, fantastic stone.  Yep, this is the sort of banding I was talking about.  Thanks for finding the pic.

I really like that stone - nice effect with the striping.  That and the shape makes it look like a coat of arms.

cheers

hi all, i work with timber, done so for 35+ years for the last 14 years i have been building boats/ yachts from 3/4 million to 270 million dollars and the beauty of wood is that no one will have the same, we all fossick for what mother nature has givin us so why not present the same.........i think to many people are hung up on the ''DIAMOND THING'' .the most commonest of gemstones..........i find them very boring as well as a lot of my female mates. I made a opal pendant for a dear friend and it turned out that the opal was worth $3000.00 the money was'nt the issue it was the nature and the heart that was appreciated. we all like to know how much things are worth when we find them, what i do is value the opportunity to find things and to turn them into a piece that people love..........no money, no presure.........and no secretes ............and we should take a look at how we can influence an-others life by just being a friend

sorry for the ''blog''
but i think i met a few good mates here
Cheers to you all and wishes for the big find to all

Kevin

Hey Kevin, hope you don't think I cut that ripper up top.  ;)

I've never bought a diamond, would consider them for accent stones but white sapphires, topaz or zircs work just as well for me.

I do have a sentimental diamond that I wear everyday around my neck.
'Blog'? Well, some of us get a bit OT and expand on things  ;) but we always seem to get back to the question.  ;D

Good morning Kevo,
Could you possibly post a pic of the opal you mention?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hmmm ... most people aren't going to twig to that one, sort of reminds me of a cunning stunt.
It's called sailing close to the wind.
