G'day all, I made it up to Wee Jasper last Sunday, a bit of a surprise when Kristy and Dave turned up! Not the nicest day weather wise; it started out at -3 degrees with fog, warming to an overcast 10 degree day with patchy showers. To top this off the creek, which is normally bone dry, had flowing water in it making it difficult to get down to the wash layer - not to mention the scares we had almost ending the wrong way up in a deep pool. It was still worth the trip though; I got three pieces of gold in the bottom sieve, two flat and one wattle blossom shape (not quite that big) as well as the usual gold dust and coloured 'pebbles' that are too small to cut. Pictures coming.

Smvquest, thanks for the motivation, flowing water. I asked the boss and got permission for a trip this Saturday. Will be digging the sluice box out of the shed.

No problems, but I don't think the water will stay long now that the rain has stopped. Looking forward to hearing how you go.
