Kashmiri sapphire
« on: November 22, 2015, 03:11:22 AM »
Hello everyone. I have a question. What price can be sapphire in the picture? It is a Kashmiri sapphire which I personally bought in Kashmir in Sonamarg. Gem I bought from locals who live in excavated mines. In Srinagar I put make cufflinks (not very nice..). I have two pieces. Rhinestone size is 8 mm x 5 mm x 3 mm. Thank you so much

Hi mate, the question is akin to "how long is a piece of string"!?  You'll need a certificate of authenticity before anyone would consider a price greater costume-jewellery; and, even then the setting may actually be worth less than the sum of its parts if it is considered to detract from the beauty of the feature stone or be anything less than objet d'art!  Sorry to not be ore help!

I agree with brett, you'll need to get the stone and setting authenticated in writing before you can value anything like this. The certificate should include the weight in carats and type and quality of the stone and metal it is set in. I doubt if anyone here could help without more information.
Common sense isn't exactly common
