Trying to locate a pendulum trim saw.

Any one know where I could source this pendulum trim saw.

How does that thing work Jerry?

Think of it as a trim saw where the saw blade is not fixed in place but can be pushed backwards as it is on a swing arm.
 
After you turn it on just push the stone against the blade. Then let gravity help the saw cut through the stone.
 
Just keep your fingers away from the front of the blade.

Have not seen these before but a quick google search seemed to indicate that woodworkers use them a bit.  Maybe check out some suppliers that specialise in woodworking equipment - if you can add coolant to the diamond blade, that might be a way of getting that type of saw into operation.


But none of our suppliers do anything like that.

Thanks Leah but it looks like I will have to wait till October to ask the owners of the swing saw.  They should be home from Agate Ck by then.

As a blade supplier, this idea helps us as well.  We sometimes get customers who are very upset because blades dont last as long as they think they should when it is often trying to cut "faster" by pushing harder.  Anything that helps avoid this has to be a good idea.

Hi Rusted my first post picture is of Bill's saw when he first took it to Agate Ck.  Agree it would stop mangling by pushing too hard.

The one in the picture is from lapidary slabs and supplies in Mackay. They are a swing saw and perfect for clubs because they are harder to abuse the blade.
