Vale Woofa
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:49:14 AM »
My fossicking mate Paul passed away this morning.

Will always remember Paul as great mate and keen fossicker.

My thoughts and prayers are with Paul's wife Sharyn and their family.

In Sharyn's words "He won the battle with multiple myeloma as he is no longer in any pain."  A very brave couple.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

A real fossicking mate and a valued friend.

Always generous with his time and knowledge, introduced me to the fossicking sites of Torrington and Glen Innes and all with a great sense of humour. Will be sadly missed.

First met Paul when he walked down to where I was fossicking for sapphires with a couple of mates at Native Dog Creek.  Think that was around about 2005.

Got on great with Paul and mentioned Minerama to him. Well after that you could not stop him.

An number of years we even looked after the Minerama field trip to Pretty Valley as well as exploring other spots in the region.

From memory we have fossicked around Glen Innes, Tingha, Inverell, Emmaville, Torrington, Hogarth Ranges, Grabben Gullen and Oberon areas as well as my showing him around Agate Ck and O'Briens Ck in Qld.

Going to miss you mate.

RIP

I had the pleasure of meeting Woofa once at Powelltown, he was a wealth of information and it's always sad to hear of another fossicker passing.  My condolences to his family and friends.
