See you there Bucket. My sieves are falling apart, but not quite enough for that big topaz to escape.

Serves me right for packing so quickly, just realised that my sieves are at home in Tassie, I'll still be up on Saturday, probably won't stay very long. Looking forward to catching up.
Can bring some spares for you if you want Bucket

Thanks guys, if someone could loan me a 1/4" or even 1/2" one that would be great, I can still only stay until lunch time as we head back to Tassie fiist thing Sunday morning and have to pack the vehicle and so forth, but one sieve would be great for that time!

Hi everyone, sadly Ken and I will not be able to make it Saturday. The timing belt on the car has not yet been fixed and I'm still recovering from a stupid chest infection. We are both very disappointed but we hope you all have a great day with lots of good stones waiting for you.  Peg beers

Sorry to hear that Peg, hope you and the car get well soon! You've reminded me that I also have a timing belt to be done before I go the Qld this year! Thanks for that Jamo, hope I can do it justice!

Yiska, yes it is going ahead, we are meeting at the Powelltown Pub at 9.30 am in the morning. The fossicking area is about 20-30 minutes from there.

Lyndaellen, most of the creeks in the area that have a gravel and pebble base are worth a look. While it's not a state secret, most would rather not post the actual road on a public forum for fear of hoardes of fossickers descending on that particular area. If you live in the Melbourne area, I would suggest, if you aren't already, becoming a member of a gem club, most of them have field trips and will show you where to go.
