I wonder why they are having the show on the same weekend as Minerama?  I would have liked to go to both.

 Wwoofa, just  like you, I would have liked to gone to both events. What a bummer; especially when I was seriously considering coming up to the Minerama event.

Wwoofa can you verify if its been a norm that Minerama has always been held on the 2nd weekend of march?

Yep Mario ... always the second weekend as far as I know.

Yes - always the second weekend in March - has been for many years I believe.

Usually fits into the calendar as just after North Brisbane show and just before the New England (Armidale) show.

It is well publicised in advance but sometimes clubs/organisers from further afield do not think to check for clashes.

I’ve just been reading an earlier post “2013 Victorian Gemkhana” and I noted that the event was held on the 9th & 10th March, which coincidently is the Labour Day weekend in Victoria.

This prompted me to check future Labour Day public holidays for 2014 & 2015.  Guess what?  The Victorian Labour Day public holidays are held on the 2nd weekend of March.
 
So I think; sadly,  :( the two shows will always continue to be organised simultaneously and the only option for me is to alternate every other year.  :-\

Looks like I'll miss out on Minerama which is close to home this year because I'm working in Victoria.
A change of scene, I'm hoping the nice people have some radioactive treasure to find.
