Opal Identification help
« on: July 03, 2021, 02:35:01 PM »
Can anyone help with identifying the pictures in my album Unknown 1.

I know nothing about it and I’m having a hard time finding any positive answers through my own research.

Thanks

Rusted

What exactly is it you are seeking? It looks like Boulder Opal, it comes from mines scattered across tens of thousands of square Kms of outback Queensland.

Images are poor and really need good light/sunshine to see if there's much colour flash in your opal pieces. However, the pics show enough to know they're low grade clear opal with perhaps a bit of colour. Still good enough to polish and making cabs with. Take better pics to show the colour of the best pieces
