vib flat lap restoration

rebuilding this old beauty 12 inch vibrating flat lap,anyone know the brand not a mark on it.also looking for a motor it clamps into the round band in the pic so motor has to be round with no capacitor box,anyone have any ideas what i am looking for.machine seems very well made and is of cast alloy mostly.[/url][/img]

speed for my faceting machine. Works well.

It could be a home made job. Normally if something is factory made, they're only too happy to put their name on it. I think you'd have to measure the circular clamp and see what's available to fill it. I don't think you'd need an extremely powerful one. If it is homemade, it may have been an old washing machine motor fitted to it.

It probably is a washing machine motor. It may even be using a remote capacitor somewhere else on the machine in its start winding. Lots of washing machines use a remote capacitor separately mounted to the motor.

pretty sure it is not home made it is made of cast even the legs,it was a gold colour from remnants under the odd bolt etc,
