Just to let everyone know, I'll be running tomorrows and next weeks trip... This Wednesday will be Rainy Swamp, next week will be (weather permitting and it doesn't rain or snow) Yarrow Creek - possibly through the fence again...some nice cutters were found and is certainly worth another look!

See you there Gibbo, hope to see you Wwoofa next week?

Yeah, the weathers looking pretty good at the moment...its certainly warmed up since the freek blizzard!  Sure was fun making a snow man while sideways blowing snow was pelting me...  brrr half my face went numb, but was sure worth the fun!!!

Was tempted to go fossicking just to get a photo...   ;D

I keep seeing these Wednesday trips and wish I was joining you lot, but a trip from Melbourne is a little far.

Melbourne might be further, but the temperature is about the same. Maybe you can head up into the Dandenongs Lapis and pretend your at GI. If you head Gembrook way you can even find sapphires to boot!
Baaa humbug, not enough fossicking time!

If you're coming from that far need week minimum, two weeks prefered to see all there's to offer! Might see you one day Lapis! So Jamo, planning on visiting Glen again?

Yeah Jamo. I tried William Wallace Creek (near Gembrook) and came up with zilch! And it WAS cold.
Capt'n, it's my intention to get up to GI one day (was last up that way a couple of years ago), but the family isn't that much into fossicking, so it'll take some convincing. Or I'll just sneak out one morning and say I'm taking a long walk to get the paper

Yep, will be up there some time in the next 12 months. Want to visit my mate Graham who has moved to Inverell & also do lots of fossicking. :) Not sure exactly when as I'm hoping to hit the national Gemboree next Easter which will probably be a bit too close to Minerama.
Lapis, perhaps you & I could plan a trip up together? Share the driving, the costs & the memories of finding HUGE sapphires!!! :D

Jamo I am going up in  the first week in March for a week or so at GI / Minerama and then back to Murray Bridge SA at the end of the month for the Gemboree. Our club is taking a club site for us all to camp together there.
See..... it's doable.  ;D
Just need to make sure my ankle/leg is working properly by then. :(

 beers beers
Happy Fossicking from Chookie

Geology Rocks, I really dig it.
My rocks are gneiss, don’t take them for granite.

Yeah Jamo that sounds like a great idea - might be a little while before I could do that though

This weekends looking at being a hot one for Glen - chain of rain 50% for Sunday... Hopefully it won't wash out Inverells gem show this weekend and chances of getting to Yarrow ck on Wednesday...

Well done on doing both. I'm afraid it will probably be one or the other for me. :(

If the leg remains a problem talk to Capt Mendoza, perhaps he has a spare wooden one you could borrow? lol :D
