Millingandi Rock Crystal
« on: July 01, 2012, 11:22:05 AM »
Finally, I've been able to get back out to a rock crystal site I found back in December, its been too wet the venture out there before this.  Have my daughter on uni break so we decided to head out to my secret spot, was only there for two hours but found some interesting specimens and left a lot for next time.

No, Not really Chookie, if people new what they were looking for its not hard to find.  Its a bit freezing up here too.  Will be in Warrnambool next week from about Wednesday through to the following Monday, so might drop into the Gem Club if its open and find out a bit about the prehnite sit.

Great Tinker,  We will be there on Wednesday 4th & Wed 18th from 1-4 and on all Saturdays  from 1-4. I'll be there on Wednesday if you get there then.

If you want a buddy to go to the quarry with just let me know. I am just 15 min from there.

You do have to call in to the Shire Offices in Mortlake and fill out an indemnity form before you go and you need to have a safety vest while there.
Cheers Sue

Sounds like a plan Chookie, I might get there for the Wednesday meeting, but definitely will come on the Saturday.  Will bring some Temora Greens stone for you.

Hopefully not too cold down south - off to Pambula tomorrow with the family. Not sure whether will get much fossicking donw but will definitely check out the Pambula goldfields as my parents live next to them. Am also sure that there is some nice banded ryolite on the pebble beach (has been put there at some stage) next to the old fuel storage area in eden. Will post pics if I get anything.
