« on: November 12, 2020, 04:23:18 PM »
Hi all,
Anyone coming to Tassie for the Gemboree?, perhaps I could run some fossicking trips for ALF members :)

https://aflaca.org.au/gemboree/GEMBOREE 2021 will be held at Hobart Show Grounds, Glenorchy from 2nd to 5th April 2021.
Cheers

I won't be going to it Andrew, but will be entering six stones in their comp. This is the first time I've entered as its the first time I've seen the Gemboree advertised. Finishing the last stone now.

You've been busy Frank. Must be almost a full time job cutting all your comp stones :)

I’ve kept track of the time it’s taken me to cut all these comp stones. That’s given me an idea on how much time per day I need to put into a stone to finish it by a particular date.
As far as these Gemboree stones are concerned, which are getting mailed Monday, its been 4-5 hours per day. Normally average about 3 hours on comp stones.

A lot of work there Frank, let us know how it all goes for you. I can't get down to Hobart for the Gemboree at the moment, as we have booked to go to the big island to finally visit family. Who knows though, things could change by then.

I'm retired so 3 hours is nothing. Had to put the 5 hours in and get the stones away early because of the mail near Xmas.
