This piece I cut for a facebook competition and it really was a step out of the ordinary for me and had a steep learning curve. Really happy I gave it a go though!
Sadly I chipped it in the final polishing stage - it caught on the wheel and hit the ground at high speed
Best to just stop when you are tired as that is when you stuff up!
I never re-doped it as the chip is in a wedge shape on the edge and think it would shatter out if I try polish it any more.
Other than that I am pretty happy with it!
Getting a nice join for gluing was time consuming but think like anything it would get easier with practice. I got it as close as I could with a dremel and diamond burs then I made a paste out of carborundum and Vaseline and rubbed the two halves together to get them nice and flush.
