Title: Photo editing software suggestion
Post by: Aussie Sapphire on January 01, 2009, 08:10:07 PM
Just posted this link in another thread but it may get buried there so thought it worth a separate topic.

Most people will have some form of photo editing software that perhaps came with a new printer, camera or the like.  Often these are quite cumbersome to load and use.

If you're looking for something really quick and easy, try Irfanview.  This program is small, fast, doesnt make any changes to your computer setup and is FREE.  It handles a multitude of image formats and does a heap of other stuff as well such as cropping/resizing images, changing format, basic editing (colour balance, red eye adjustment, etc).

Download the program here:  http://www.irfanview.com/

I use this just about every day - it is fantastic.  Just a suggestion for those who need something easy to edit photos before posting in the gallery.

cheers
Leah

Leah,
I used Irfanview for years, until about 3 months ago when I replaced my PC with a Mac.  I now use Aperture mainly plus Photoshop Elements 6 occasionally.

Irfanview is a great free piece of software and really good at handling all the diverse formats of pikkies.  It was also really good for resizing photos.

Regards,
Shane
