Adding Photographs to the Gallery

Hmm, found anothery for making comment.
Claude had some crystals posted and was asking about cleaning. There was no 'comment' button, I changed page and of course I'll have to go hunt for the pic cos I don't know what folder he put it in?
Ah the things we do....  

OK wot I found so far.
Leah, ALL the general folders have lost the 'comment' button.
The user albums look ok for now.

I can see the Comment button on both general albums and user albums.  I should have everything set so regular members can add comments and upgraded members can autoapprove comments.

Can others let me know if they have the same problem?  I'll keep looking - what else to do on a day that is TOO HOT !!

EDITED TO ADD:  just logged in as a regular member (newbie status) and I can add items and comment in both types of albums.  I'm stuck until someone gives me more clues.

SUCCESS!!  Think I've cracked it.

When the "add item" problem was reported, I adjusted a whole bunch of permission for ALL member groups which should have fixed the problem.  However, I didnt realise that you have to do this for both User Albums and General Albums - in case you might want to set these differently for the 2 different types.

There is such a thing as too much room for adjustment sometimes   

It will take me a few minutes to reset all the settings again for the other profile so please check that everything is working properly tomorrow.  I am betting it will right by then but who knows.

Hi, been trying to either post some photos in an album, or start my own album, but always get a message when i press submit ''''An Error Has Occurred!
This album's directory couldn't be properly created, please make sure mgal_data/ and mgal_data/albums/ are chmodded to 0777 or 0755. '''''!
Any suggestions? I am probably doing something wrong!

I have a new camera,fuji finepix hs20 and cant get pics on due to the size of the file ,i have cut down the pixle size but there still way too big,any ideas?

Try Irfanview - really handy and simple program for basic editing and format changing.  Does photo resize in a snap.  This is one of the first bits of software that I install on any new computer.  Quick to use and not weighed down with lots of stuff you will never use.

For posting photos here, 800x600 is a good size that fits nicely and has small file size.
