Title: Adapt a Tool
Post by: tassielulu on November 14, 2010, 01:26:22 AM
Found a rubber backed Polishing/Grinding Pad at the local Tyre Shed which is used with air tools by automative trade which has a 1/2in thread and can be used by us to attach various grades of polishing wet and dry grades ( ie: 2000 grit upwards).  Each pad is around $20 and with a couple of pads (with specific grade on each pad) you can make pads from 1200 - 5000.

These Pads will fit a hand drill with a sander attachment, viable speed on drill would be good and coolant is via a spray bottle on the pad.  Pads come as either contact cement or velcro backed Pads.  I was only able to get the cement on type, which works fine.
