Any ALFers heading to Lithgow?
-
I hope to get down on the Friday or Saturday but I have a few other things to sort first. Will know within a couple of weeks.
-
We live in Lithgow but know nothing beyond what we've read in this thread.
-
Have booked accommodation in The Blue Mountains and will get down to Lithgow sometime over the weekend.
Don't need the tiger-tail walking stick anymore.... I now have two titanium hips.
Hope to see some ALFer's there.
Regards, Ghost.

I'm curious to find out what field trips are on offer.

I'm curious to find out what field trips are on offer.
Seems they will not announce the trips until very close to the event.
(yes I talked to someone who would know)
Like on the day or the day before in case weather etc cancels a field trip. :(
-
I've booked my site and hope to tailgate Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Any ALFers on site, feel free to stop and have a chat. Look for the flats of Broken Hill minerals and you'll find me. I'll also be wearing my Broken Hill mineral club badge.

Sue and I have just returned from the show. It was much as expected. Arthur Roffey was the only person I recognised but I forgot about darttrev68's post until we were home again. Sorry, mate!
I saw nothing up about field trips.
-
Field trips are Porters Retreat and Sapphire Bend.
As mentioned in the last newsletter they posted.
Went to the show on Friday just over 2 hours to drive there and an hour to get home.
Had fun looking at the outside trader's stones etc and talking. :)
Some nice O'Briens Ck blue topaz and agates were for sale.
Bought a nice blue/green fluorite crystal from Trouser Springs ;D

Well I was a little disappointed by Lithgow. Whilst I did get what I was after and pleased with-I was disappointed with the amount of sapphire rough that was available. Very few dealers offering it- yes there was some quality material there but also poor quality. The other comment I would make is it was a mineral collectors dream. There could have been a few more dealers offering faceting material
