Does anyone know if Nanosital can be polished like quartz? That is, with an Ultralap or Cerrium oxide on perspex.

There is a thread on Nanosital Stone on the GemologyOnline.com Forum with lots of interesting comments.
Type 'Nanosital stone' into Google and the reference site will probably be about the third item on the first page.
Sounds like a form of glass so should polish like any other 6.5 - 7.0 hardness stone.

PS. Some people think that cerium oxide on lucite has an added chemical reaction/polishing effect on quartz.

Nanosital polishes quickly and well with a thin , just moist film of Cerium Oxide on a Matrix lap . Similar method to what has been used with Linde A on a tin lap for stones with a greater hardness than quartz.
