Hi, looking forward to your posts. What sort of lapidary are you interested in?
-
I am real new to the game of prospecting, I am just looking for all tips and advice, ( good place to find it is here ..... there is so much information to take in ).

I started off tumbling, then slicing agates, onto making cabachons and setting them into silver pendants. Now I only do faceting. Tumbling would be the cheapest way to start.

Tumbling is very high on my list to do. But first I would love to find a few sapphires.

Welcome to the forum Longfellow. A good place to start would be to find a lapidary club in your area and head along to one of their meetings. Most have workshop days and field trips to areas to look for your own stuff. They can show you how to find and then finish off the material you find or purchase. Most aren't expensive. What general area are you in?

Thanks Bucket for the advice, I was thinking about a lapidary club, I just have to try and fit it in with work. I am in the Sydney area.
