Adding Images - other methods
« on: November 12, 2008, 04:11:43 PM »
We encourage everyone to use the Gallery for adding images as this gives you more features - ie. comments, keywords, categorisation, etc.

However, there are 2 other ways to add pictures to your posts.

a)   use Image Shack or Photobucket image hosting services - these store your images and you need to use the forum/bulletin board code supplied to add them to your posts.

OR

b)  simply add them as an attachment to your post when composing your message.  This is a very simple method but does make it a bit harder for other members to see your photos once the post drops down the list over time.

When using Method B) - just click the Additional Options button at the bottom of the text entry box - this allows you to directly upload a file and attach it to your post.  The size limit is smaller for this method compared to using the Gallery.

OK. I've added 3 images to the gallery. How do I add them to a post? I found the attachment bit in Additional Information but I can't figure out how to add them at a specific point in the text and that adds them straight from my hard drive, not the gallery. :-[

Gday Andrea,

You need to use the instructions in the pinned topic in this board.

When you upload a picture to the gallery, there are some code options below the image.

Use the BBC Embed Code option which looks like this:
Code: [Select]

When you put that in your message, it will load the picture as a thumbnail like this:

hope that helps,

cheers Leah
