Need a job
« on: September 23, 2010, 12:21:04 AM »
The end of last week I got sacked [restructured, they put it] out of my job. Worked 22+ years helping keep a sawmill running, and hoped for a couple more. The timber industry is flatter than a board here [sorry for the pun, but I had to]. Chances of finding work here slim to none. Funds will be a little tight now, might be able to ship us over in a well-stocked container. With winter coming here, suppose I'll have time to send some pics. of our stuff, now that I know how. Still holding hope to be able to come visit and do some fossicking in your area one day. This forum, and all on it, are a great enjoyment, thanks to all.

Oh no Llarson that's not good news. Where's the loyalty to the workers, especially like you who have put in the long yards?
Gee, I hope you find something, you might have to make your own job.
Oh blow it, come over here for a working hol. At least you'll be warm.
There ya go, a tv show, 'Diggin' the Aussie life.  :D
Keep em comin!!!

sorry to hear that llarson - I hope you can find something soon to tide you over.

There is no doubt that times are real hard so losing a job is tough.

Timber industry here is not finding it real easy either - plenty of blokes in your shoes right now.

Good luck and make sure you check in from time to time.

cheers
Andrew and Leah
