Hi, Y'all!
Earlier this week I was looking at my collection of random pieces and noticed a jagged piece of quartz that had blue(?) tourmaline crystals crossing thru it. Unfortunately it's really hard to see any detail as most of the faces are etched and/or very rough. So, I decided to tumble it. No big deal, you may think... but the piece is diamond-shaped, at least 10cm long and 7cm across. It was only just fitting in the 1.5kg Lortone barrel lengthwise.
Anyhow, it's tumbling away now with a barrel full of smaller than normal petrified wood pieces and the usual dose of 80 grit, with the intention that they act as the abrading medium. I'll check next weekend and find out whether the idea has worked or not...
