Now I know why we couldn't get any accommodation at Fossickers!!! You lot booked it out!
We are arriving in GI on Thursday the 8th and staying till Monday the 12th.

We would love to join you at Tinga Sands - are you still going on the 11th (sunday) and would it be ok to join in?..we have 4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults. We will also be trying Billabong Blue and 7 Oaks on some of the other days.

Gday soccermum - just upgraded you to "Regulars" status so you are definitely an official "ALF'er" now. Therefore, feel free to join in all the fun as it suits your schedule.  As a "Regular", you can post pictures and comments in the gallery and approve them yourself.

We'll be at the dinner (Sat 12th) with our 2 boys (aged 12 and 7) so definitely come along if you would like to.

cheers
Leah

Hi Andrew and Leah
I now know that my wife will be away on the evening of the dinner (which I am pretty certain is 10th October). Would you please add my name to the list?

Kids, why not.  How else am I gonna get that wash from the bottom of that hole.  I will bring the rope to tie around their waist.

Hi Mithras

What's this about child labour? Have you forgotten Ted's advice about getting a little fossicking mate...you should have seen the pot-hole he wanted me to go down at Grabben Gully. Fortunately/unfortunately someone had beaten us to the gravel in it already!

Looking forward to catching up at MM, it's been a while.

Muddy.

If the pothole was the one in the video you would have needed a snorkle.
Mmmmh you may still need one out at Yarrow Ck  ;D

Hehe....   ;D actually my mission was to be a dry pothole, tried to video it but couldn't capture the depth - there was also a metal bucket and rope nearby, but those bits didn't make the director's cut.

We'll wait to explore the underwater crevice after the creek drops a bit. I know I'm enthusiastic, but even I draw the line at snorkelling for sapphires:o !

Our plans have changed again! We are leaving canberra this saturday for Barraba, (Maybe even drop into parramatta miners den  ;) ) We will stay in Barraba for 3 nights, detecting around woodsreef for gold and relics. On tuesday we'll be driving to Deepwater, north of Glen Innes, and on the way through we will stop over in Tingha for quartz.  :o ;D We'll stay at Deepwater until friday and then onto tweed heads for about 4 days beach detecting and/or shopping! (I havn't told dave about the shopping though ;) )

So if anyone is free wednesday night, we'd love to meet up for a drink and to share our finds! One day of work to go!!!!
