Did Pacific Copper ever mine any copper at this site?

Pacific Copper may have been an actual productive company at one stage, but it was later bought by Bond Corporation and then established the site in the photos to process silexite allegedly for the refractory ceramics industry.

When you consider the remoteness and cost of setup, the whole things sounds like a means of funnelling other people's money into the private companies that did the construction and logistics - like Tasmanex and Vale Engineering did with an old tin mine not far away in the '70s.

Will def post a picky....maybe some one will be able to tell me if it is beryl or aqua or emerald...I'm so confused...everything I read says it all depends on the colour and a chemical test...I'm just happy I found one!

Customer came in this weekend - they had spent a few days fossicking up at Torrington.

Showed off a 5 carat emerald cut blue topaz that she found in the carpark 

Nice colour - fantastic find.  Went away with it looking very fine in a brand new Aussie Sapphire gem box.

Just goes to show that people can be lucky.

I haven't yet photographed my emerald - probably next weekend so that I can get a big enough set of scales to put it on...
