getting fine gold from the pan.
« on: March 24, 2013, 10:12:18 AM »
Hi All,

Trying my hand at panning today but I don't have a snuffer bottle yet.

Can anyone suggest another method or makeshift snuffer bottle I could rig up?

Wishful thinking that ill find some.

Cheers,

Brero.

Can you get your hands on a couple of these:

Called suction tweezers in this context but they are just cheap pasteur pipettes - if you know someone with access to a science lab, there should be heaps of them.

We sell them - they are very cheap - but would suggest combining with other items otherwise postage will be relatively expensive.

On a similar note, perhaps an eyedropper or similar thing might work until you get a proper snuffer bottle.

cheers

Cheers for the replies. End up using something similar to Leah's suggestion.  A plastic vile of saline.

Will order myself a the real thing soon. Luckily I do have a few things I want to get.

I just use an old empty singer sewing machine oil bottle. It has a nice long thin screw on top , with a cap.
