Competition Winner Mick B

CONGRATULATIONS to Mick B
He has won the professional abstract carving section of the Lightning Ridge Opal Festival.  Apparently there was stiff competition from around the world.
Well done and I'm sure well deserved.
Humble guy he didn't want to tell us about it - to bad we want to celebrate it to.

Thanks guys, great to get recognition with my carving, I have never seen so much black opal as what I saw at the awards night, opal miners wife's wearing million dollar rocks, would have easily been 200 people at the awards ceremony, this was my first visit to the Ridge, so many different nationalities.

Well done Mick B. I like all forms of carvings from stone to bone. Hopefully I'll try a hand at it in the foreseeable future.

That opal is well up to your usual high standard Mick, such a good polish I can still pick up the fingerprints on the surface (sorry but I did that for so long I can't get away from it).  I think your abstracts are fantastic!  Congratulations on your win.
